Addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Prativad Sabha' event at Dharmatala in Kolkata on 29 November 2023, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reasserted that "no one can stop the government from enforcing the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act)". He also hit out at the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government in West Bengal for opposing the Act, claiming that this was leading to intrusions into the nation via West Bengal.
