Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has ordered all 60 million Italians to stay at home and not travel.

The lockdown is an attempt to halt the spread of the coronavirus with the number of infections and the death toll on the rise.

Queues have formed at supermarkets as Italians try to stockpile food and other essentials.
