Tiny Tim collapses with a heart attack during a performance. Though this was not the one that ended his life, he eventually succumbed during a later performance. His friends and loved ones said we shouldn't be sad, because he literally died doing what he loved best. I loved Tiny Tim in the '60s, and his first album (which I listened to endlessly) has an oddball charm that holds up well today. It even includes an eerie song about impending environmental collapse: "The ice caps are melting, the tide is rushing in. . . all the world is drowning to wash away the sin." There's even a Bob Dylan connection here. The two worked together on an unreleased film called Eat the Document. Bob very respectfully referred to Tiny as "Mr. Tim".
