Members of the Dutch motorcycle gang "No Surrender" have joined the Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the Northern region of Iraq in their fight against Islamic State (IS) militants.
Dutch gang member Ron, who did not give his last name, is fighting with the Peshmerga forces on the frontline in the city of Zumar, close to the Syrian border.
When asked by a local television news reporter why he joined the Kurdish forces, he said he couldn't watch the Islamic State's violent acts against the Yazidi religious minority, any longer from his home in the Netherlands.
Ron didn't want to disclose how long he has been fighting alongside the Kurds, but vowed to stay in the country until the militants are "pushed back into Syria and removed from the Kurdish territory."
Ron, who said came to the Iraqi region with a large group of people from his homeland, said he has a military background and experience in fighting.
IS extremists have carved out a vast stretch of territory from northern Syria to the outskirts of Baghdad where they have imposed their harsh interpretation of Islamic law.
Hundreds of thousands of refugees have fled into Turkey from Syria ahead of the militants.
