This video shows you how to make a delicious Japanese Chicken Omu Curry.
So what is an Omu Curry? Have you heard of Omu Rice? Omu Rice is a Japanese dish where you wrap up rice or mixed rice in an omelette. So, an Omu Curry is basically an Omu Rice PLUS a Japanese curry. This is one of the most satisfying and filling Japanese dishes I know - it's delicious too!
I made this dish using Japanese Java brand curry cubes, but it's equally good with other Japanese curry cubes like Golden or Vermont.
I put chicken breast in this curry cut into bite sized pieces along with some onion, garlic and ginger. Of course, you could use other ingredients as well, if you prefer.
One of the keys to a classic Omu Curry is to have the omelette nice and shiny and oozy. If you don't like your omelette like this, just cook it like a regular omelette. If you do want that nice shiny look, then the way to do it is to get your oil hot before you pour in the egg/milk mix. Then, give the omelette a few gentle stirs with a chopstick or form while it is cooking to make sure the bottom doesn't cook too quickly or stick to the pan. Then, get a slice, and move the omelette around to keep it from sticking and when it is almost done but still shiny on top, gently slide it over your rice. (The video will show you all of this obviously!)
I hope you try this recipe out and enjoy it!

My Bio.
Hi, I'm Kurumi and this is my Youtube cooking space where you can find out about how to cook delicious Japanese, Asian and Fusion foods in your home. I'm Japanese but I have lived in London for the last 30 thirty years.
Back in the days before the internet (and Youtube), I was a food writer. My first book published in English was called Japanese Cooking for Two which I wrote in 1994. It has become the 9th best selling Japanese cookbook ever… yippee!
My other books were ‘The Noodle Cookbook”, “The Soy for Health Cookbook” and “Healthy Noodles.” I also published a book in Japanese “English Home Cooking”. Then I had children and my life changed!
By the time my children had grown up, the world had changed quite a lot too! Internet, Youtube etc etc. So, these days, instead of books, I publish recipe and articles on my website and on this channel. I hope you enjoy watching my tutorials - they are all tried and tested (some more times than I care to mention!) until I think you will get them right first time when you make them and enjoy eating them.
I hope you'll find it easy to follow my recipe tutorials. There's alway a link to the written recipe on my website, if you want that as well.
