Difficult Intubation Evaluation:

Careful evaluation for difficult intubation includes neck and oral exams.
Limited neck extension, thyromental distance of less than 3 fingerbreadths, and submandibular masses can hinder laryngoscopy.
The Mallampati score of pharyngeal visualization and inter-incisor distance further assess airway access.
Restricted mandibular movement or significant overbite can complicate visualization of the vocal cords too.
A highly arched or narrow palate also poses challenges.
Patients with multiple risk factors warrant consideration of advanced techniques such as awake fiberoptic or video laryngoscopic intubation.
