So, in case you had missed the live feed on my Instagram page @holdenairshowmedia, no worries!
This is the DEBUT demonstration for the F-35A Lightning II in North America! I had the opportunity to drive a couple hours south to Melbourne to witness this demonstration! This is the only video shot from the Melbourne Air & Space Show that day!
Watch as Captain Andrew "Dojo" Olson performs a vapor-filled, breathtaking demonstration in the F-35A. He will then join up with an A-1 Skyraider and P-51D Mustang in a revamped version of the USAF Heritage Flight.
Even though the F-35A has participated in many Heritage Flights, the aircraft had not been cleared to perform a full demonstration until the end of this last year.
This video was filmed 100-percent with a tripod. As a result, I had very little movement as their were chairs and other photographers around me, but, this video still shows some of the capabilities the F-35A has to offer.
This video is dedicated in memory of Stephen "Cajun" Del Bagno. He performed with the Thunderbirds at Melbourne the year prior. 10 days after the show, he was killed while flying a practice routine over the Nevada test range. Prior to flying with the team, he flew F-35A's in my hometown at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach. Blue skies Cajun! 4 Forever!
