This video was produced specifically for people new to 3d printing looking for their first printer. I review the specifications, unbox, set-up and test the Monoprice MP Select Mini 3D Printer (v2). Along the way, I explain a number of basic 3d printing concepts including a discussion of the types of materials (filaments) supported by 3d printers.

As a point of reference, the MP Select Mini is compared to the Creality Ender 5 and the Original Prusa i3 MK3.

While no one should expect a printer I purchased fully assembled for $180 functions, as well as a $320 Creality Ender 5 or a $750 Original Prusa i3 MK3, is it reasonable to expect that a printer sold by a major brand such as Monoprice should be functional.

There are quite a number of the printers for under $200, what differentiates the MP Select Mini is that comes fully assembled and calibrated, ready to print.
