Tiana’s Beignets (The Princess and The Frog)


INGREDIENTS

1 1/4 cups warm milk
2 tsp active dry yeast
3 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tbsp butter (melted)
Oil for frying
Honey for drizzling
Powdered Sugar for dusting

Combine warm (100-110F) milk and yeasts and wait until bubbles come out, about 10 min. Add 1 1/2 cup flour and 1/3 cup sugar and mix until smooth. Add the rest of ingredients and knead the dough about 10 minutes. Then let it rest in slightly oiled bowl for about 2 hours. Or if you have instant pot - 40 min using Yogurt mode. Then roll the dough and cut for desired shapes. Fry until golden at 350F oil. Drizzle with honey and dust with powdered sugar.
