An Event called “Mothballed Fleet” rewards you with a small fleet of Fallen Empire ships and you can even acquire full fleets of those anciently designed ships; if you are willing to use the Console Window to trigger that very event again.
First things first. One of the many events you can trigger as you explore the Galaxy results in the discovery of an abandoned Fallen Empire fleet hidden in some sort of rocky structure in the orbit of a Starbase/Outpost.
The event is a random one and there is always a considerable chance it won’t trigger in your current.
However if you are not playing an Ironman game you can use the Console Window to trigger it.
Select a Starbase or an Outpost under your control, open the Console and type “event galactic_features.301”.
If you really like those ship and want a full fleet of them you can repeat the whole procedure until you are satisfied with the number of ships.
If we consider the combat effectiveness those Fall Empire Ships despite the high Military Power are inferior to Arc Emitter and Cloud Lightning Battleships; mostly due to their heavy use of Strike Crafts compared to the wonders of “Arc Lightning” Battleships.
However if you like to role-play a Fallen Empire, desire to play a civilization with some “old advanced tech” or simply like their design you know you can acquire them.
Actually early game they could even result in some “unfair advantage” over AI Empires.
It’s worth to mention this is the best way to acquire Fallen Empire ships because if you try to use the “add_ship” plus class name command you will get a ship that looks like a turret.
The “galactic_features.301” is the only way to get those designs. There is actually another but it’s far more complex.
You need to type “debugtooltip”, read the ID of a Fallen Empire, pause the game, type “play (empire ID)”, select one of their fleet, send it to a system that does not have closed borders with your main empire, type “play 0” to return to your own empire, un-pause the game, wait for the fleet to arrive, select the fleet then typing “own” and the fleet will be yours.
If you don’t send the fleet to a system with open borders the fleet will go MIA for a couple of years once you acquired it before appearing back in your territory. As you can see the procedure from this video is less complicated.
If you have any question feel free to ask.
Thanks for watching :)
