The price of a Gibson made Dave Grohl used these days is insane. Right now, on Reverb there are three for sale ranging from almost $17k to just under $20k. The closest I will get to one of these models in reading about them online.
Epiphone recently released their version of the DG-335 and I was able to get my hands on one.
To purchase a new one there is a wait. Here are the pathways to get one. They are making more new guitars, and you can preorder one for $1299 and expect to get it sometime in June of this year. At the time of filming this video it is March/April 2024.
Or you can buy one on the used market. There are two folks that have the guitar for sale now. The folks who bought it and realized it was not the guitar for them or the folks that bought it knowing there would be lulls in new product coming to market and it would be a quick way to make $500. The used market is demanding $1600 and up for a mint version of the guitar on Reverb. Some are even priced in the low $2000s.
I purchased mine for three reasons. 1) I wanted one. 2) I wanted to cover it for the GCG Channel and 3) It is a good investment. Over the years it should increase in value.
Up to this time the only version I have been able to play is the Chibson version I have covered and upgraded in videos on the channel.

Observations
The fit and finish is excellent.
There is not a thing that I would modify or change on the guitar.
The case is excellent and makes the price of the guitar bearable. To be honest speaking a price I expected Epiphone to come out in the $1799 price point and was pleasantly surprised when they came at $1299. Still a lot for a Chinese made guitar.
I was hoping that it would have come with Rosewood and not Laurel. I have found that Laurel is very dry and sops up oil.
I like the look of the headstock. I do not like how long it is and am going to have to be very wary about making sure it is supported all of the time.
I love the Gibson pickups. Clean they are wonderful and through an overdrive or distortion pedal this is one hell of a rock and roll machine.
One last thing I am very happy with are the Grover mini-rotomatic tuners. Damn these things are smooth.
Overall it is
