Pride Month kicked off in San Francisco Wednesday with the annual lighting of the Pink Triangle, a symbol that reminds of the hate and intolerance the LGBTQ+ community has endured, atop Twin Peaks. Despite the festive nature of a return to gatherings this year after the two-year pandemic parade cancellations, the local community faces political challenges and division.
