“Pregnant women, children, senior citizens and people with kidney or heart or liver diseases are at a higher risk of developing complications of dengue fever,” says Dr. Farhan Fazal, MBBS, Department of Infectious Diseases, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru. He says that Dengue fever is a common fever that can be cured in its early stages unless the fever escalates due to improper care. He emphasizes the role of keeping our surroundings clean so as to avoid mosquito bites, as they are the main carriers of the dengue virus.
