Anders Osborne’s music has become part of the DNA of this festival. He is a purveyor of modern electric blues, rooted firmly in the musical traditions of his adopted hometown, New Orleans. A deeply self-aware man and artist, he is not afraid to both confront his demons and celebrate gratitude for every breath he draws. His global journey from his native Sweden to the Crescent City was propelled by his music. When he landed in New Orleans, his heart bid him to put down roots. Emotionally played music that speaks to each and every one of us is his stock in trade. The feelings he can convey with his guitar and deeply honest songs are astounding. In addition, he knows well the challenges faced by musicians who’ve chosen a clean and sober life and, to that end, he founded Send Me A Friend, a network of volunteers who stand by to help if one’s resolve wears thin. He is a festival favorite and has been on the bill since his first appearance here in 2008. It’s not Telluride Blues & Brews without Anders Osborne.
