Wie durch Zauberhand dirigiert, blieben plötzlich knapp 15 Jugendliche wie erstarrt stehen und spannten wortlos alle gleichzeitig ihre blauen Regenschirme auf, die sie mit gelben Sternen dekoriert hatten: das Symbol für Europa. "Flashmob" nennt man eine solche Spontanaktion in der Öffentlichkeit, die so schnell wieder verschwunden ist, wie sie aufgetaucht ist.
Mit dem Überraschungsauftritt wollten die Jugendlichen aufmerksam machen auf ein europäisches Projekt, das vom 16.-18. März seinen Höhepunkt hat: Jugendliche aus Italien und Deutschland gründen dann ihre eigene europäische Jugendpartei und treffen sich zu ihrem ersten Parteitag.
