today I'm making easy and quick fruit and cream fried pies. These little gems are light and flaky and absolutely delicious! Give them a try and let me know what you think about them. This is my own recipe
1 cup fresh blueberries (coated in granulated sugar)
1 can cherry pie filling
2 rolls premade pie crust
1 egg beaten
8 oz cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp milk
1 egg
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp sugar
deep frying pan
enough vegetable oil to fill frying pan 1/2 inch deep.
mix cream cheese, vanilla extract, milk, sour cream, egg and sugar together until blended together smooth.
add mixture ( about 3 good spoonfuls) into the blueberries.
roll out premade pie dough
cut into about 3 inch circles. Brush beaten egg on the edges of dough circle. put a drop of pie filling in the center and fold over to close. pinch the edges closed or use a fork to secure the edges closed.
repeat the steps for cherry but only use a few spoonfuls of the cherry pie filling at a time to mix the cream filling into as you don't want it to get too thin and sloppy.
heat oil in frying pan on med high heat.
place pies about 3 or 4 at a time in the hot oil and let them cook for about a minute and flip them. cook until golden brown. Remove from oil and place on a draining rack or drip screen.
enjoy as is or mix up a few spoons of powdered sugar and lemon juice and drizzle over warm pies!
