Breastfeeding has many benefits for both the baby and mother. Not only does it provide the baby with important immune defense and vital nutrients, but breastfeeding also allows for a special bond between mother and baby.
The CDC recommends breastfeeding for up to one year if possible, whereas the World Health Organization recommends up to two years or longer if possible. However, not all mothers are able to breastfeed due to illness, medications, or other circumstances, and you must do whatever is best for you and baby.
