Nightclub comic “Wildman Steve” Gallon is the blaxploitation, cut-rate Six Million Dollar Man, in this Miami-shot quickie from Rene Martinez, Jr. and an all-black cast and crew.
Theaters in the South, including the premiere in Atlanta, had no problem advertising under its original title, but north of the Mason-Dixon Line, the film was run under a slew of alternate titles, including “The Six Thousand Dollar Super-Brother,” “The Six Thousand Dollar Black Man,” “The Six Thousand Dollar ______” (usually covered by the name of the theater), and finally reissued as “Super Soul Brother.”
