Previously, Sabin, Cyan, and Gau went to the Crescent Mountain Cave, where Gau gave the party the Diving Helmet. They went through the Serpent Trench to Nikeah. From there, they took the ferry to South Figaro. All the player characters met in Narshe, where they repelled Kefka's attempt to claim the Esper. However, when the party went to the Esper, Terra underwent a strange transformation and flew off. The party explored the town of Narshe and headed southwest to Figaro Castle. Now, they will begin their search for Terra.
Overworld:
The party resumes outside of Figaro Castle. My party consists of Locke, Celes, Edgar, and Sabin. Edgar goes into the lead.
The party enters Figaro Castle.
Figaro Castle (time 0:35):
The party spends some time reexploring the castle. Some dialogue is a little different this time around, and some is different with Edgar in the party.
As the party heads north from the entrance hall to the central battlements, a scene with Sabin takes place. He temporarily leaves the party to check out the castle. During this, the party is temporarily blocked from leaving the castle.
In the hall just south of the throne room, Edgar talks to the merchant in the eastern room. With Edgar in the lead, Figaro Castle's merchants will give the party a nice discount. Edgar picks up three tools: a Noiseblaster, a Flash, and a Drill. The Noiseblaster confuses the enemy group. The Flash blinds the enemy group and deals damage. The Drill deals high damage to a single enemy.
In the western room, the party picks up some Holy Water, which cures the Zombie status. With Edgar in the lead, this is a good place to stock up on other things, as well.
Eventually, the party goes to the guest room west of the central battlements and chooses to get some rest. This triggers an event with Sabin in the throne room. He has a melancholy flashback. Afterwards, Edgar joins Sabin in the throne room for some dialogue.
When this event is over, the party wakes up in the guest room, and Sabin has rejoined them. They finish their reexploration of the castle.
When the party is ready to go, they return to the entrance hall and go down the western stairway to the engine room on B1. They talk to the old man there and choose to go to Kohlingen. The castle tunnels northwest under a mountain range and surfaces in another desert beyond.
The party leaves the castle.
Overworld (time 14:39):
The party emerges in the small Kohlingen Desert west of the mountains. The town of Kohlingen is on the coast to the north.
In the Kohlingen Desert, the party can still encounter Alacrans and Sand Rays. They can also encounter a Fossil Dragon, a much more dangerous enemy. Its Sandstorm attack does high damage to the whole party, and it has an attack that can inflict the Zombie status.
The party goes to the northern peninsula in the region. When they find a small house, they enter.
Dragon's Neck Cabin (time 17:51):
The party has found the Dragon's Neck Cabin. They go inside.
They search the southwestern pot and acquire a Hero's Ring.
They also learn that the cabin's resident is a bit of a kook.
Celes equips the Hero's Ring instead of the Earring and goes into the front row.
There is nothing else to do here, so the party leaves the area.
Overworld (time 19:02):
Just northwest of the Dragon's Neck Cabin, the party finds a Chocobo Stable in the woods.
Chocobo Stable (time 19:07):
This stable charges 100 gil per chocobo ride. The party saves their money and moves on.
Overworld (time 19:35):
The party heads south along the coast to the town of Kohlingen. Along the way, they encounter some of the local enemies. In the grasslands, they can find Bloodfangs and Vultures. They can find Rock Wasps and Iron Fists in the grasslands and forests. Paraladias appear in the forests.
Locke reaches Level 12.
When the party reaches Kohlingen, they enter town.
Kohlingen (time 20:23):
The party heads to the northeastern house. When they go to the basement, a scene will take place if Locke is in the party. When he examines the girl, a brief flashback plays. When the flashback is over, Celes will react briefly if she is in the party.
