STORYLINE:
When President Bush testifies before the 9/11 Commission on Thursday, he'll do so in the company of his right hand man and top confidante, Vice President Dick Cheney.
The testimony itself is a reverse-course for the president, who originally opposed the creation of the commission and then opposed extending its life.
Asked early on to testify before the panel, President Bush initially said he'd meet only with the chairman and vice chairman. And only for an hour.
But they did so with tight restrictions.
