My Little Pony is an American toy and media franchise, developed by Hasbro. Initially targeting children, mainly girls, between the ages of 3 and 8, it is based mainly on a line of pony dolls, created by Bonnie Zacherle, Charles Muenchinger and Steve D'Aguanno in 1983. Its success generated cartoon series and licensing of products such as clothing, office supplies and stationery, and other smaller brands.
