We will begin by reviewing the emergence of the Grail Mysteries as a metamorphosis of pre-Christian Egyptian and Hebraic and Celtic mystery streams. These esoteric currents converge during the Greco-Roman cultural epoch culminating in the Mystery of Golgotha with the enactment of an Archetypal Grail Ritual by Joseph of Arimathea that has Human and Cosmic Significance at the Turning Point of Time together with Nicodemus which sets the stage for the First Easter Festival.
A further metamorphosis of the Grail Stream takes on Historical Significance in the Ninth Century especially around the pivotal year 869. Later the Rosicrucians become the Guardians of the Holy Grail Impulse and carry it forward to unite with the Spiritual Current that flowed into Anthroposophy. In his book Occult Science which provides an overview of Anthroposophy, Rudolf Steiner referred to Spiritual Science as Grail Science. Around the same time Steiner spoke of the Second Coming of Christ in the Etheric Realm which is closely linked to the Grail Mysteries and can be characterized as the Most Significant Event of Our Time as well as the future that lies ahead.
