“100% Tatarstan” - is an intellectual business space which brings together experts and speakers who will discuss key topics of the strategic development of Tatarstan, Russia.
Aquatic sports are especially popular in Tatarstan and Russia.
First of all, this became possible thanks to the legacy effect of major sporting events that were held in Kazan, such as the 2013 Universiade and the 2015 FINA World Championships. After the staging of the events, the population of the republic became attracted to sports clubs and swimming pools. The leadership of the region is implementing consistent and purposeful work to create a material and technical resources for practicing aquatic sports. There are 237 swimming pools in the republic, 16 of which meet the Olympic standard. Over 30,000 children are involved in aquatic sports.
There are 56 aquatic athletes from Tatarstan in the Russian national team.
Kazan will soon host a number of major international sporting events, such as the 2021 LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships and the 2024 LEN European Aquatics Championships, the 2022 FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) will be held in Kazan, and in 2025, the city will once again host the largest aquatics sports event on the planet - the FINA World Championships.
