September marks National Suicide Prevention Month, and suicidal thoughts and mental health issues continue to be a struggle for Black and Brown people, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.
Psychologist Dr. John Huber joins “BNC Live” to talk about the growing issue, how it’s a “troubling time for teenagers,” and what people can do to prioritize their mental health.
Huber suggests one tip about dealing with teens who have expressed suicidal ideations.
“Don’t be judgmental. Listen to their story, let them tell their story,” he says. “A lot of our kids now, especially now that they’re not in schools, they don’t feel like they have a place where they’re heard.”
All this and more on “BNC Live.”
