A 65-year-old man is accused of animal cruelty after four horses belonging to him were found neglected. One of the horses, a mare had to be euthanized.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office responded to 2520 Duncan Road where deputies found two mares in a temporary enclosure without grass. The mares were a tan Palomino and a brown and white paint, that were found extremely emaciated and lethargic, with their bones visibly pointing under their skin.
One of the mares had dug a hole and was lying on the ground, deputies say. [ Ссылка ]
