Japhet Koome is the latest latest casualty of ongoing changes in government. He is no longer inspector general of police. A statement from state house stated that President William Ruto had accepted the resignation of Koome as inspector-general of the national police service and had consequently appointed deputy inspector-general of the Kenya Police Service Douglas Kanja Kirocho as acting inspector general of police.
