Originally from the United States, the American Paint Horse is a breed that descends from horses that arrived in the New World with the conquistadors, notably those brought by the Spanish explorer Hernando Cortes in 1519. Its name was often changed from the 1800s until 1900. Among these, we can cite names like Pinto, Paint, and Skewbald.
