The new EU Copyright Directive is heavily debated. It's article 13 (now 17) implies upload filters for copyright protected material on all big platforms, where users can upload user generated content. In a worst-case scenario this could have wide consequences for a lot of users in Europe, but also in the rest of the world.
In this video I try to inform you about what's in the articles 11 (now 15), 12 (now 16) and 13 (now 17). in addition I give you my opinion on each article and try to explain why this is a bad idea from my perspective.
What can you do against it?

Why should I care outside of Europe?
This directive will have an impact even on countries outside the EU.

PS: Sadly it passed. Now we need to pressure the governments for best case laws. Also go vote. Also note: the Anti-European parties voted FOR the directive. E.g. the UK could have stopped this in the EU Council, but voted FOR the directive. Inform yourself about what parties voted against the directive!
