It was an amazing two weeks watching Rhoda, a bilateral above knee amputee, transition from wheelchair to walking! Rhoda lost both legs to blood clots; one in 2020 and the other in 2021. When she stood on two legs for the first time in over two years, Rhoda was terrified of falling. However she pushed herself to take those first steps and built enough confidence to walk outside of the parallel bars using a walker! ❤️💪🏼 True strength! Rhoda returned to Texas where she will continue to work on gait and strength training. We are so proud of all she has accomplished during her time at POA - even a hurricane didn’t stop her ☺️ - and look forward to watching her progress!
