Gang violence continued in Port-au-Prince on Monday, with police using megaphones to order the evacuation of the Champ de Mars area near the National Palace as heavy gunfire erupted nearby.
The most recent gun battle between police and gangs comes more than a month after gunmen began targeting key government infrastructure.
The gangs have made several attempts to take over the National Palace in a final push to gain complete control of the capital.
