I know I've done several Jimmy Rogers songs over the course of this video series and there will probably be even more (like Goin Away Baby)-- that's because Jimmy was SO important to the history of the blues. "You're the One" from 1955, is definately one of Jimmy Rogers's greatest songs. This is a great lesson for an intermediate guitarist who knows the basic chords but is still working on an authentic groove and a melodic approach. I always call this groove the 'lump de lumps' and the 'chimes'-- Jimmy was a true master of this style and played it with a special beauty. The Wirz discogs says "possiby Robert Lockwood" on second guitar, but based on who was around by session numbers blues historian Scott Dirks suggested it could be Lockwood's young protege Luther Tucker.
