Yuan's misdeeds led to his arrest, and to save his life he is forced to tell the whole story. When Nuán is saying goodbye to the Garden that has been her life for years, she receives the good news that she can stay thanks to Shen's generosity, but just then Zhao, the governor's nephew, comes with another announcement: his uncle has ordered that all Fo's previous properties be returned to Nuán, and, additionally, those of Yuan's as compensation. Now she is wealthy and has a beautiful son. Nuán falls asleep in satisfaction, and her dreams wander about the handsome herald who brought that incredibly good news. Love blossoms again in the Asian garden. The sunset announces the end of the day and the story.
