I'm testing the theory "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!"
Went back to the well and searched online for what I thought would be a legit/real Stihl product this time. I think the "tell" on the listings was not so much the price, but the availability. Anything that could be delivered in a few days (and had multiple product pictures) gave me a bit more confidence than the listings that identified delivery as ~3 or more weeks out (made me think coming from Chy-na). Rolled the dice a second time.
As you can see from the video, many obvious visual differences between the two products (scary how blatantly "off" the copy is with component spacing). If the "new"/second file is a fake, it's a MUCH better fake all the way around from packaging to tool embossing with all the apparently correct information.
I'll sleep a bit better and my Chy-na radar is now ratcheting up with dealing with the rain forest folks. Was already there for eFlay...such a shame. Even funnier that the counterfeiters are complaining about the return shipping being too expensive. OMG...seriously?
