You might know him for his well-known comedies like “Airplane!” or “The Naked Gun”, but Jim’s incredible work extends far beyond the big screen. This man has impacted the lives of people around the world who are facing an epilepsy diagnosis through his non-profit The Charlie Foundation for Ketogenic Therapies, and he’s a huge source of inspiration behind Metabolic Health Summit!
Life dramatically changed for the Abrahams in 1992 when Jim’s son, Charlie, started suffering from horrific seizures when he was only 1 years old. The family tried everything to control Charlie’s seizures, including drugs and surgery, but nothing seemed to help. As a last resort, and thanks to Jim’s research, they decided to try the ketogenic diet. Within 48 hours Charlie’s seizures stopped. He went from hundreds of seizures a day on medication to NONE, all through a change in diet. Jim and his wife Nancy then founded The Charlie Foundation in 1994, and since that moment they’ve dedicated their lives to helping others implement ketogenic nutritional therapies to treat epilepsy, neurological diseases, and cancers through online support services, global training programs, and engagement with the medical community. The Charlie Foundation is an incredibly important voice in the keto community, and that’s why we are proud to be honoring the non-profit at our MHS Gala Dinner!
Join us in January to support the Charlie Foundation’s mission, and watch the replay of our interview with Mr. Abrahams on our MHS Facebook page! Visit www.metabolichealthsummit.com for tickets!
