The first journey on our list at the Aosta valley is to head north to mount
the Skyway cable car,to the point closest to Mont Blanc.
An amazing traveling in glass walls cabins rotating gently on itself
offering the 360-degree spectacle of the peaks of Mont Blanc and majestic Aosta Valley.
Courmayeur is a skiing and mountaineering resort at the head
of the valley, near the foot of Mont Blanc. We found it peaceful
and relaxing this time of the year.
The curvy road up and down the Alps to friendly La Thuile is breathtaking.
This can be said even more in the The Gran Paradiso National Park
Waterfalls, floating streams and snow coated picks. The trees are dressed in their carnival clothes, the gold and scarlet of the autumn days. Carpets of gold-coloured leaves create more beauty than ever dare ask for.
The Aosta Valley is full of ancient castles to explore. In the Middle Ages,
it was a compulsory passage towards Alpine passes. We were impressed
with the Aymavilles Castle - A unique Chateau in its kind that combines
medieval and baroque phases in its external appearance. Impressive.
Making an ancient chalet dating back to the beginning of the 17th century our home sounded extremely appealing. We stayed in a room at the Moraine Enchantee, built using local wood and stone, that once constituted a real family.
Moraine Enchantee is a family project. This chalet is from 1608 and we renewed it in
the last few years”, says Stefano Viola, co-owner. “So all is new from the interior side with all the services. We have 6 rooms and 3 apartments for our guests, an external garden with a mountain view, this is the view . We are very happy to have guests because we try to give a family feeling of Italy and Aosta valley in particular”.
And, never forget the famous Italian cuisine we all love in the valley restaurants
Aosta valley, this may be your next break.
