STARTING POSITION:
1) Set the bar on the rack at the lowest position you can possibly bend over to pick up while still keeping your spine straight.
2) Keeping your spine straight, tilt your pelvis forward to grab the bar with both hands placed on the bar about shoulder width apart. You may have to bend your knees a bit to maintain a neutral spine in this position.
3) Engage your shoulders back and down; and abdominals drawn-in, to set a solid core.
MOVEMENT:
1) Keeping yourself bent over with your spine straight and as parallel to the ground as you can get it, unlock the bar from rack.
2) Pull the bar up by pulling your elbows up to your sides. Be sure you are positioned so that your wrists can follow your elbows.
3) Then lower the bar back down till your elbows are nearly straight. Do not let your shoulders drift forward. Keep them engaged back and down.
4) Repeat.
