At 550 feet, this is the highest bluff between the Appalachians and the Rockies. The trail goes along the top third of the bluff and averages about 350-400 feet above the Buffalo National River below. Before I go any further with his description, I would NOT recommend this trail with children, or even with dogs. The path can be roughly 3-5 feet wide in some places, with several hundred feet of a drop below, so please use caution and wisdom when hiking here.
We went Sunday afternoon, October 30th. It was overcast and drizzling all day, but the sun did peak out a few times making the colors really pop.
The hike is roughly 6 miles there and back, with an elevation difference of 1076 feet.
Hope you enjoy this quick look at this beautiful location along the Buffalo National River in Arkansas!
God bless!
-Joe
