Today at Alf's Mustang Garage we are replacing the shift shaft seal that is leaking on a C4 automatic transmission out of a 1966 Ford Mustang. These C4 transmissions also came in the Mercury Cougar, Mercury Comet, Ford Falcon, Ford Maverick, Fairlane, Galaxy, and many other Ford and Mercury vehicles from the 60's and 70's. We have to remove the transmission pan, valve body, neutral safety switch, and then remove the shift shaft to replace the seal as well as the o-ring for the kickdown shaft.
