Thirty-five year old Grant Mizens, a born and bred Sydneysider, is a member of the Australian Paralympic basketball team, also known as the Australian Rollers.
A keen sportsman from a young age, Grant took up wheelchair basketball following the car accident in 1994 that changed his life forever.
Since Grant joined the team in 2001, the Rollers have gone from strength to strength, winning silver in Athens in 2004, before triumphing over their long-time rivals from Canada to take gold in Beijing in 2008.
As a veteran of the Rollers, Grant plays an important role inspiring younger players, and hopes his past success can help spur on the team to defend their title in London.
