The Intermatic EH Series 7-Day Electronic Water Heater timer provides control for electric water heaters with to-the-minute accuracy in programming and timekeeping. These timers include 7-day scheduling, 42 ON/OFF events per week, external overdrive switch, replaceable battery backup and are available for both 120 and 240 VAC applications.
For your convenience, the instructions for this tutorial “How to Set up and Program the EH Series Electronic Water Heater Timer” are listed below:
1) GETTING STARTED: For the Initial Setup, move the top selector switch on the right to the “TIME SET” position.
a) Now, press the “day” button to advance to the current day.
b) Then set the hour with the “hour” button being mindful of the “AM/PM” setting.
c) Lastly, press the minute button to advance to the current time.
PRO-TIP: You can hold the button down to advance more quickly.
PROGRAMMING ON/OFF EVENTS
2) ON: To program a schedule, move the right selector switch to “PROG”. You will see “ON” and “1” on the right of the display indicating that you are setting the “ON” time for the first program.
a) DAY: Press the “day” button to advance to the day or combination of days that you would like the timer to be “on”. For this example, we will choose Monday through Friday.
b) HOUR: Now, set the hour and minute with the “hour” and “minute” buttons. For this example, we will set the “on” time for six thirty AM.
3) OFF: To advance to setting the “Off” time for the first program, press the “On/Off Event” button. You will see “Off” and “1” on the right of the display.
a) DAY: Now, press the “Day” button to set the days and times for the timer to turn off. For this example, we will again choose Monday through Friday so that it turns off at the same time every weekday.
b) HOUR: Press the “Hour” and “minute” buttons to advance to the desired “Off” time be mindful of the AM/PM setting.
4) RUN PROGRAM: To run the schedule you just programmed, move the right selector switch to the “RUN” setting, and make sure the left selector switch is in the “AUTO” position.
5) MANUAL OVERRIDE: You can override the programmed schedule by selecting “MAN” (manual) on the left switch. You will then need to manually turn the timer on and off with the “ON/OFF EVENT” button.
6) TEMPORARY OVERRIDE: If you want to temporarily turn the timer ON or OFF but then resume the programmed schedule, leave the left switch on “AUTO” and the right switch on “RUN” and press the “ON/OFF EVENT” button. This button is also accessible, and the status can be monitored when the enclosure door is shut.
