Today is a Storm Track 5 Weather Alert Day. Hot and humid early this afternoon with feels like temperatures near 100! Showers and storms look likely later this afternoon and evening. Rain will move from north to south as a cold front works over us. The best chance of storms in the Kansas City metro area currently looks like 3pm-5pm. Heavy rain will occur in spots and some storms could produce damaging wind and hail. The farther west you live, the more likely it is you'll see rain and encounter one of these stronger storms. The severe threat will come to an end around 7pm in the southern part of the viewing area and all rain will come to an end overnight. After tonight, the weekend looks dry. Partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s for Saturday. Sunny with highs around 90 on Sunday. Both days look less humid than yesterday and today.
