The 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) is changing the social fabric of societies, businesses, work, and leisure. 4IR technology and innovation are driving new business models and a new ‘knowledge economy’ based upon data, applications/analytics and existing knowledge. Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure (GKI) positions geospatial, a general-purpose capability encompassing governance, technology, data and people, at the heart of knowledge co-creation. GKI sets the groundwork that helps human ingenuity to prosper and lead us to new places. It aims to ensure geospatial is everyone’s business. The end goal of GKI is building a sustainable world where everyone and the environment benefit from geospatial knowledge.
