Mass Effect main character voice acting varries vastly between the two genders. It is my opinion that the female voice actor, Jennifer Hale, has done a vastly superior job at bringing a character to life than her opposite number, Mark Meer, who always sounding the same. This goes directly to the immersion of the story and when I first played ME with a male protagonist I was slightly annoyed at this flat voice acting, especialy when I reached the Normandy speech. Out of curiocity, I started a female character and speed up to that point. From the very first few lines of dialogue I could see the difference, but when I reached the Normandy speech, the delivery of that speech send shivers down my spine. I do not think many people know this, so I made this video to show exactly how different it is and what people are missing from an awesome voice acting.
Note 1: The video begins with the speeches whole and then I've cut lines and intertwined them for a more pronounced effect.
Note 2: I used the Windows Movie Editor to do this and either I do not know how to use it or it is total crap since all the cutting from the male acting are not showing, but it doesnt matter anyway, the voice is the important thing here so I left it at that since I dont want to buy Premier or learn another video editing software.
