Event Horizon was the last film I watched with my dad in 1999AD in the week before he passed away due to lung cancer on March 31st, and the version I saw was on television so it probably also wasn't quite as bad in parts as the theatrical release.

Overton window wise, it's at least still better than many things nowadays relatively and even deals with the final destination of so many in myriad bandwagons upon the broad highway.

This movie & The Thing were foundational to Dead Space, one of my favorite video game series, and the Christian band Demon Hunter has at least a few good songs like Collapsing (which seemed apropos for how the ship travels essentially as well!!!!!!!!!)
