Aerial views of Stafford Castle, Staffordshire, UK, filmed in 4K with a DJI Mavic 3 drone.
The remains of a 14th-century stone keep standing on a 11th-century Norman motte along with a complex system of earthworks enclosing two baileys and a settlement.
Ralph Stafford became the 1st Earl of Stafford in 1347 and he had the wooden defences rebuilt in stone, with a large keep on top of the motte. Later, his family extended the castle and its accommodation.
During the English Civil War, Parliament captured the castle (1643) and destroyed the defences and it was described as ' ruinated and there only remains in the hill the fortification trenches that are grown over with green'.
