This song is a translation of a poem Madam Jeanne Marie Guyon wrote while she was imprisoned in a dungeon beneath the infamous Bastille Prison. Madam Guyon (1648-1717) was a French Mystic who founded Quietism, a movement the Catholic Church found heretical in her day. Her writings influenced countless leaders of the Protestant Church, such as John Wesley of the Methodist movement, Count Nikolaus Ludwig Zinzendorf of the Moravians, Watchman Nee and Hudson Taylor of China, along with many from the Holiness Movement of the late 1800's. And in Thy mighty will to find, the joy, the freedom of the min
