‘World-class!’
That’s how West Indies Head Coach Daren Sammy described Guyanese left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie ahead of the second ODI against India on Saturday in Barbados.
After West Indies were skittled out for 114 in the opening match on Thursday, Motie and others made life difficult for India, plucking out five wickets and creating three other chances.
Motie, returning after an injury layoff, removed Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan in an impressive spell of 2-26 off 6.5 overs, and Sammy was forthright about the spinner’s all-format competence.
