William Gillock (Jul. 1, 1917 - Sep. 7, 1993) was an American piano teacher and composer originally from La Russell, Missouri. He moved to New Orleans following his studies at Central Methodist College. Makes me wonder if his compositions are at all influenced by the jazz tradition of New Orleans.
He primarily wrote music for children. His emphasis on melodic writing led him to be known as the Schubert of children's composers.
While I'm no longer a child, his music remains fun to play.
