It went all too fast? You want the details? No problem.
Here are our recommendations in order of appearance:
0:08 Zürich
It runs like a swiss clock! Attractively set at the meeting of river and lake, the city is recognised as one of the world's most liveable cities. Switzerland’s largest and wealthiest metropolis is a must visit on every trip to this country.
0:08 Languages
It can be quite confusing. You leave one valley and suddenly you can’t read the street signs anymore. Switzerland is a multilingual country speaking four official languages being German, French, Italian and Rumantsch.
0:11 Luckmanier Pass
This beautiful road on the border between Graubünden and Tessin was one of our highlights on the tour. The route is not exactly a shortcut for anything which means you’ll be quite alone driving this route. That leaves you plenty of time to enjoy the views.
0:15 Largario and Acquarossa
The Valley of Acquarossa is our secret recommendation. It’s not untouched, but unspoiled. Hidden behind mountains from the motorway M2 it offers a small piece of rural Switzerland on the way.
0:17 Cascata di Foroglio
Oh, how beautiful water can be. The alps form the most stunning waterfall sceneries just like this one near Locarno.
0:20 Sonlerto
The URL to Sonlerto is dasschoenstedorf.ch which translates to “the most beautiful village”. This is not only funny, but very true. Sonlerto is tiny – only 35 houses – but is located near the dead end of Val Bavona in the very south of Switzerland. This lovely place offers a true getaway from everything.
0:23 Gotthard Pass
The Gotthard Tunnel might be one of Switzerlands greatest engineering masterpieces. But it’s useless from a petrolhead’s perspective. We highly, highly, highly recommend taking the time to go over the old pass and get dizzy on the twisty mountain road.
0:31 Andermatt and Wintersports
You can write books about the awesome skiing and snowboarding opportunities in Switzerland. But you already know that, do you? So we decided to take some wrong turns deliberately.
0:33 Locarno
It is hard to imagine that this city is not Italy (yet). Locarno offers a vibrant dolce vita lifestyle with everything you can ask for. People speak Italian, look Italian and act Italian – but they’re not. You’re still in multicultural Switzerland!
0:34 Punt Russein
This bridge in Disentis/Mustér stands representative for so many great things you find along the road. For every modern bridge you pass there’s an old one right next to it. Take the time. Explore them!
0:37 Castelgrande, Bellinzona
There are three castles in Bellinzona and this one is the most popular. Dramatically set on a rock above the city it’s the must visit when you’re in the Tessin region.
0:38 Altdorf
Altdorf is best known as the place where, according to the legend, national hero William Tell shot the apple from his son's head. Seriously: Don’t try this at home!
0:42 Verzasca Dam
Does it look familiar to you? This is the famous dam from the opening scene of James Bond – Goldeneye. And the bungee jump Pierce Brosnan did back then has become reality: You can jump from the same spot – if you dare. Unfortunately we couldn’t because it’s closed during the cold season.
0:52 The Secret Meadow
For this video Mazda offered us a unique experience. They gave us their new CX-5 and coordinates to a secret meadow in the middle of nowhere. To our surprise we found a prepared shipping container with everything you can ask for. We stayed there for the night, looking at the clear nightsky until the early morning hours.
