Rafael Castillo, aka De La Ghetto, knows how to put down some catchy lines. When the Puerto Rican singer was a kid with aspirations of singing stardom, his mother would nudge him toward the sounds of salsa. “She didn’t really like reggaeton or hip-hop,” Castillo told Billboard. But of course, she came around; hundreds of millions of streams, including 2018’s hit collab “1,2,3” featuring Sofia Reyez and Jason Derulo, and two million YouTube subs would make any mama proud.
